a few words about...
OK, here comes the last one - so far.

2009 has been a peculiar year for me. My best colleagues ever - who were also some of my best friends - all flew away for new adventures (one changing job, one going in Australia for a year, one leaving to live in another part of the country). My father died during summer. And I met the woman of my life, which is still today and the mother of my kids.

Huge upheavals.

In a way, Interface is a testimony. I wrote and recorded it fast, in fourth months, before my friends went away for their new lives.
I knew I had to finish it before the end of June (for some reasons I won't explain here). So I clarified my mind and decided to make things easy by chosing the piano almost as one and only instrument for the album.
Not in the way I did with 4 août 2002, avenue Daumesnil. No improvisations. Elaborated tracks. Using drums for some of them, and arrangements requiring other sounds. Rigor allowing freedom.

So is Interface. Rigorous and free. Full of joy, bright up to naivety, technical sometimes, relaxed other times. I find it charming and I'm proud of it. This is absolutely listenable, I guess, remembering it is as non-professional as the whole lot. Simple music, from the heart. A personal need that I wanted to share anyway.
Anything may happen in our connected world, right ?
